The sky is falling!

We had a little earthquake today.  It was a 3.4 centered in Berkeley.  We felt a couple shudders and that was it.  Not a big deal, but it’s always a funny feeling when it happens.

I also forgot to report that Alissa had her 2 month checkup this week.  The doc was happy with her progress although she still is on the lower end of the curve at 9 lbs 15 oz. and 21.75″.  Not unexpected, however, as neither Bonnie nor I are on the high end of the curve ourselves.  She also got a shot in each leg and cried a little but the drama was over rather quickly.  Thankfully, she didn’t seem to have any side effects later on in the day with fussiness or feeding or anything.  Actually, she slept about 7 hours straight that night.  What a good baby!

As I mentioned previously, Alissa has been smiling more and more but we still haven’t captured a full on smile.  The one above is as close as we’ve gotten and it’s kinda lopsided.

In other news, I went to the doctor myself the other day to get a stubborn stomach flu/food poisoning thing checked out.  I had to provide a stool sample… eww.  (Hmm… corn?  When did I eat corn?)  Also, since I hadn’t had a full blood workup recently, the doc suggested I go ahead and get that taken care of too.  In any case, it turns out I had some Campylobacter bug that a short course of Cipro will take care of.  Also, my cholesterol and other bloodwork came back fine.  The only thing he suggested is that I exercise more to get my HDL levels up.  Now that I’m feeling better, hopefully I can make that happen as I start running for the marathon and hopefully, play tennis a little more.

Finally, for those of you who know my brother, Mike, he’s engaged!  I think they’re thinking about a Fall wedding in Vegas (where they live).  I wonder if that means the bachelor party would be there too?
