Bonnie’s birthday, part 1

We had some people over last night to celebrate Bonnie’s birthday. I was initially thinking I would just get some takeout, but Bonnie requested some chicken cacciatore so I found a slow cooker recipe and started that around noon. I had also been meaning to try making some ribs, so I made a couple racks of the baby back variety from Costco. Those were in the oven for about 4 hours. All in all, they turned out pretty well considering it was our first time using those recipes. Mmm… ribs. Next time, I’ll try them on the grill with some wood chips.
For dessert, we got a mango mousse cake with our “free 6-inch cake” coupon from Schubert’s when we ordered our wedding cake. (Can you believe it was almost two years ago?!) Benita also brought some cream puffs AND Bonnie made some pina colada jello. Too much food!
