Vegas for Mike’s wedding
By jason, October 22, 2007 on 11:41 pm | In travel, family | No CommentsMike got married in Vegas this weekend so we took the opportunity to spend some extra time with my parents in their new house as well as a bunch of other relatives mostly from the east coast. I have a ton of pictures to process as I was the wedding photographer as well as the best man but here are a few from the point and shoot:

Alissa’s Ugg(s)
By jason, October 14, 2007 on 11:35 pm | In alissa | No CommentsBonnie bought a pair of baby Ugg(s) for Alissa a long time ago (which I made her return… scrooge that I am.) But then we got another pair as a gift which Alissa now sort of fit. They’re still a little big. Anyway, here are some pictures of her in them: (Yes, her onesie says “Party, my crib, 2 am.” My friend Tee made that one for her.)

Alissa can walk!
By jason, October 13, 2007 on 5:08 pm | In alissa, video | 1 CommentOk, not really. But she’s pretty good at stepping anyway. Just on a whim, I thought I’d see how well she could walk while being held up and she just started stepping pretty quickly and supporting all of her weight. For some reason, her right leg makes bigger steps than her left leg but I’m sure that will even out soon enough. Either that or she’s going for some sort of gangsta swagger. Anyway, she’ll probably be walking on her own pretty soon… another few weeks maybe? My little girl is growing up so fast! *sniff* =)

Our wedding album… two years, two months, nine days later
By jason, October 9, 2007 on 9:36 pm | In photography | No CommentsBonnie and I finally got around to designing our own wedding album. It’ll be a simple 12×12 leather bound album with 20 spreads. Here’s the entire album with a teaser below.

Whew! Longest ride ever!
By jason, October 7, 2007 on 6:38 pm | In san francisco | No CommentsDennis, his friend Dana, and I went on a 50+ mile ride today. I’m not sure exactly how long it was since I accidentally stopped my GPS watch for a few miles.
Here are the stats. And here is a pic of the route (the diagonal line from the panhandle to the GG Bridge is where I forgot to turn the GPS back on… oops.

So that already gets me more than halfway towards my 100 mile goal so maybe I need to revise that number up! The only bad thing is that I got a slow leak in my front tire coming back over the bridge so I had to kinda limp home. Anyway, great day, great views, great friends… what else could you ask for?
Fleet Week San Francisco
By jason, October 7, 2007 on 6:12 pm | In san francisco, culture | No CommentsWe didn’t want to make the commitment of going to fleet week at Crissy Field so instead, we went to the top of Grand View Park and viewed the action from afar. Apparently, we weren’t the only people who thought this was a good idea as there were about 100 other people at the top of the stairs. I have to say, the action wasn’t nearly as spectacular as it is up close but then again, we got 30 minutes of a decent panoramic view without having to fight any crowds or parking or having to drive to the other side of own. Plus, I think Alissa may have freaked out at the noise from being so close to the action.
Alissa is not impressed:

“I guess they’re ok…”

They were pretty far away for most of it so we got broader views like this:
Parents’ wedding album
By jason, October 5, 2007 on 4:45 pm | In commentary, photography, family | No Comments
Today’s world of digital photography, HD videography, online wedding registries, and bridezilla/platinum wedding reality shows is literally a generation removed from when my parents got married. On October 10, next Wednesday, they will have been married for 37 years. Ten days later, my brother Mike, one of the next generation, will get married and coincidentally, Alissa, yet another generation removed, will be exactly ten months old. (Alissa getting married isn’t even on my radar yet… let’s get through teething, walking, talking, potty training, etc. first.)
Anyway, I’ve been meaning to use some of this generation’s technology to protect the last generations memories by digitizing their wedding album so it can live forever in virtual reality in case it gets lost/damaged in true reality. So here it is.
A few things to note:
1. My dad’s handwriting was (and still is) pretty cool… I did not inherit his precision.
2. My parents still use a lot of their wedding presents to this day… that Corningware is indestructible.
3. I love the “Plans” section of the picture below… “that pretty librarian at the University of Scranton (as if there was only one)” from where my mom just retired a couple months ago:
