By jason, March 24, 2007 on 4:57 pm | In people | No Comments

Alissa went to her second First Birthday party in as many weeks today. It seems like everyone and their cousin has a little kid these days! Anyway, Kristen and Jim had the party for Simon at the Bay Area Discovery Museum. As you might expect, I took a bunch of pictures. I really do like taking kid pictures. Especially when they’re in their natural element. It’s more fun to just capture them doing whatever they’re doing vs. having to try to pose them and get them to smile in a studio environment. Anyway, thanks Jim and Kristen for inviting us! Alissa had a great time meeting all the other babies there despite this serious look on her face:

Girl’s afternoon out

Last Wednesday, Alissa and I met up with Gladdie, Mia and Kaila for lunch at BJ’s in San Mateo. It was our first big adventure out on our own without Jason (other than our trips to Stonestown and the grocery store). It was great seeing how big Kaila has gotten since the last time I saw her when I was still pregnant. It was also Mia’s first time meeting Alissa. The mommies all had a great time visiting and the babies had a great time posing for pictures and looking out the window. Alissa was very well behaved the entire time and she even let mommy make a stop at Target after lunch. It was definitely nice to have the chance to get out of the house.
Willie and Emily get hitched
By jason, February 5, 2007 on 12:24 pm | In people | No Comments
Bonnie’s childhood friend Willie got married to Emily on Saturday in San Ramon. Another one bites the dust! =) We only went to the ceremony since we weren’t sure what our baby capabilities were going to be at the time we had to RSVP. As it turns out, Alissa was very well behaved (i.e., slept like a rock) through the ceremony and we probably could have gone to most of the reception as well. Oh well… there will be other weddings. However, our list of single friends grows shorter and shorter every year while our list of friends with kids grows longer and longer every year.
Anyway, congrats to Willie and Emily! Enjoy your DINK status while you can!

T-Minus 10 and counting

Another day has come and gone and no baby yet. However, we did hear that our friends Ellen and Mike had their baby on 12/7. Natalie Alyssa Haight (top picture) was almost 7 lbs… cute, huh?! I thought I’d throw in some pictures I took at Brian and Tee’s from this summer. Tyler is another cutie. To balance out the cuteness, I threw in one of Vin. Yes, that’s brownie sticking out of his mouth. Classy.
Bonnie’s baby shower, take one

Kathy threw a baby shower for Bonnie with her high school friends but instead of measuring her belly and eating baby food, they painted ceramics! They turned out pretty well! Here are the rest of the pictures from the shower.

Reid’s 1st Birthday
By jason, September 11, 2006 on 11:02 pm | In people, photography | No Comments
Reid invited us to his very first birthday party this past Sunday. Bonnie and I were the only couple that didn’t bring a playmate, but we did take some pictures, so hopefully that makes up for it. (I guess technically, we did bring a playmate, it’s just that she’s not ready to actually come out and play.)
Anyway, happy birthday Reid, and thanks for inviting us! I’ll send your parents the link to the rest of the pictures as soon as I get a chance to go through them. (I took a lot.)
Kids as subjects
By jason, August 29, 2006 on 10:12 pm | In people, photography | No Comments
One of the best things about being a photographer is the opportunity to capture kids in their element. Although difficult to direct, they will reward your patience and skill with unadulterated expressions of joy, curiosity, and at times, grief. I’ve been lucky enough to have Tyler and Rylee as my subjects on more than one occasion. Here’s just one of a number of pictures that I hope they’ll look back upon fondly.
